West Brom 1-1 Wolves: Points shared in rain-soaked Black Country derby

Mbaye Diagne equalised for West Brom against their Black Country rivals Wolves as their survival hopes remain slim at best.

With things not going their way in the first half, Sam Allardyce changed their formation and this helped them gain more control. Diagne saw an effort cleared off the line in the 42nd minute.

The hosts were dealt a big blow in stoppage time in the first half as Wolves went ahead. Fabio Silva’s strike from inside the area deflected off Kyle Bartley and over Sam Johnstone into the net.

The Baggies grabbed an important equaliser against their local rivals in the 62nd minute. Diagne was in the thick of it again as he headed home Conor Townsend’s cross.

It finished 1-1 though and this leaves West Brom ten points adrift of safety with four games of the Premier League season remaining.
