BAYERN OPEN TALKS WITH NAGELSMANN
Sunday wasn’t a good day for Tottenham. First they fluffed their chance of silverware by barely bothering to turn up at Wembley. Then it emerged that their primary managerial target is talking to Bayern Munich.
Daniel Levy wants Julian Nagelsmann to boss Spurs next season but the chairman will have to turn on the charm to convince the 33-year-old to move to north London. Nagelsmann has reportedly told RB Leipzig that he wants to leave in the summer, but The Independent is reporting that Bayern have already opened talks with the coach as they look to replace Hansi Flick.
One consolation for Levy: he wouldn’t have to pay the £26million that Goal says Leipzig want as compensation – a record sum for a manager.

CHELSEA LEAD VARANE RACE
Some concerning whispers for Manchester United this morning too. Apparently, the Red Devils are no longer the frontrunners to sign Rapahel Varane.
United have a long-standing interest in the Real Madrid defender, who is approaching the final year of his contract. The Red Devils are expected to make a firm move for Varane, but it seems a Premier League rival has stolen a march on them.
According to Mundo Deportivo, it is Chelsea who are now favourites to land the central defender. The story goes that the Blues have signalled their willingness to pay the £61million that Real have asked for the 28-year-old.

ARSENAL FEAR REAL REVENGE OVER ODEGAARD
Both United and Chelsea are waiting to discover what consequences, if any, they are likely to face as a result of their fling with The Super League. Arsenal too, though they are said to be worried that Florentino Perez could take personal revenge on them for losing their nerve.
The Gunners are keen to sign Martin Odegaard this summer but Mikel Arteta is relying on Real to ask a reasonable price for the playmaker. But The Sun says Perez is in no mood to do Arsenal, or any of the other snakes, any favours and could price them out of a move for the Norwegian.
Which would seem churlish, since the whole reason the ESL ever became a thing is because Real and Barca are broke.
