Gossip: Liverpool eye Newcastle flop, PSG plan Ronaldo move

PSG PONDER RONALDO MOVE
Not content with pursuing Lionel Messi, PSG are also said to be eyeing a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both Messi and Ronaldo were bundled out of the Champions League this week, with the Portuguese star viewed as culpable for Juventus’s exit to Porto. While Juve pore over their misfortune, reports suggest they are willing to cut Ronaldo and his massive salary loose this summer, a year before his contract is due to expire.

Should that be the case, Le Parisien says PSG would consider bringing the 36-year-old to the Parc des Princes. We assume it will be an either-or situation, rather than Mauricio Pochettino pairing Ronaldo and Messi together…

MESSI’S MIAMI PLAN
Wherever Messi finds himself next season, the Barca star is already planning for 2023.

Apparently, the Argentina genius fancies two more years in Europe before heading off to MLS to play for David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

That’s the word according to Cadena Sur, which rates Barca’s chances of keeping Messi at the Nou Camp beyond this summer as 50-50.

LIVERPOOL EYE NEWCASTLE FLOP
Chancel Mbemba’s performance at the heart of Porto’s defence on Tuesday night is one of the leading triggers for such introspection at Juve. The former Newcastle defender, alongside the absurdly-good Pepe, was outstanding while dumping the Old Lady on her arse.

Mbemba’s contract at Porto runs until next year, so the time to sell or renew is fast approaching.

The 26-year-old should fetch around £12.8million and, according to TMW, Napoli have made enquiries while Liverpool have also ‘asked for information’.

CHELSEA KEEP TABS ON COMAN
There have been whispers this week surrounding Christian Pulisic. The Chelsea winger could be seen as surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with Liverpool and Manchester United said to be monitoring the USA star’s situation.

The Daily Mail reckons Chelsea are already eyeing replacements for Pulisic, with Kingsley Coman chief among them.

The story is a little woolly, with lots of ‘if’ and ‘could’. Apparently, Coman was in Chelsea’s thinking if Bayern had managed to lure Callum Hudson-Odoi to Germany in 2019. If Pulisic indicates a desire to leave Stamford Bridge, then Chelsea ‘are poised to revisit their interest’.

MAN UTD, CHELSEA IN KEEPER TALKS
Gianluigi Donnarumma kept goal at Old Trafford last night and one report suggests that could become a more permanent arrangement.

The AC Milan keeper is out of contract in the summer, and Mino Raiola is turning the screw on the Rossoneri to secure his client a hefty pay rise. Apparently, Milan have offered to bump up Donnarumma from £95,000 to £125,000 a week, but Raiola is pushing for another £3million a season on top of that.

Duncan Castles, on the Transfer Window Podcast, reckons United and Chelsea ‘have been in talks with Raiola about Donnarumma’.
