Gossip: Chelsea’s swap deal for Haaland, Van de Beek to quit Man Utd

Erling Haaland is a man in demand. And it looks like Chelsea have a plan…

CHELSEA TO OFFER PART-EX DEAL FOR HAALAND
Chelsea were thought to have been ruled out of the race to sign Erling Haaland, with the Borussia Dortmund goalbot said to be determined only to join ‘an absolute top club’.

But the Blues aren’t letting that stop them and they are going full steam ahead for the striker.

Their latest plan, according to Football Insider, is to send Timo Werner and a truckload of cash to Borussia Dortmund in the hope of offering the Bundesliga side the best deal.

There was talk last week that some at Chelsea feel that Werner will be back in Germany, perhaps as early as this summer, and this proposal would certainly make the best of a bad situation.

But even if Dortmund are persuaded, Haaland and cuddly Mino still have to be convinced.

MAN UTD MAKE STRIKER DECISION
Manchester United have also got their elbows out as they jostle for position in the queue to sign Haaland.

The Manchester Evening News says the Red Devils have ‘settled on Haaland as their centre-forward priority’ and the ‘ideal long-term replacement for Romelu Lukaku’. Until now, it didn’t seem as though United felt Lukaku was worth replacing at all…

United have apparently focused in on Haaland having had their hopes of signing Harry Kane ‘derided’ by Tottenham sources.

DONNY DEMANDS TALKS OVER UNITED FUTURE
While United get their ducks in a row for Haaland, Donny van de Beek wants a word…

The Holland midfielder has had a really weird start to life at Old Trafford. He was United’s headline signing last summer, but since then, they have barely let him play, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handing the £40million recruit just two Premier League starts.

Understandably, Van de Beek is p*ssed off. The Daily Star reckons he’s had enough and is demanding talks with Ed Woodward to resolve his immediate future.

ARSENAL EYE ODEGAARD EXTENSION
Things are going rather better for Martin Odegaard.

The midfielder, on loan from Real Madrid, has slotted in well at Arsenal and is enjoying life after two goals in two games over the last week.

Mikel Arteta is similarly chuffed with how Odegaard is settling, so much so that the Daily Mail says Arsenal will try to extend his stay at the Emirates.

That could be as a permanent signing or, more likely, the Gunners will attempt to extend his loan for another season.

SPURS, CHELSEA LINKED WITH DYBALA
Paulo Dybala could be heading to London too.

The Juventus forward could find himself offloaded this summer when the Old Lady begins a clear-out.

France Football names Tottenham and Chelsea are possible destinations for Dybala, though either club would have stump up around £45million for the 27-year-old, whose contract expires next year.
