Tottenham Hotspur have not yet opened talks over a loan extension for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, according to reports.
The Welshman rejoined Spurs on loan from the Spanish giants last summer. He had spent seven years with Madrid since his record-breaking £85m move in 2013.
Bale got 105 goals from 251 appearances for Madrid in that time and he was a multiple-time winner of La Liga and the Champions League.

His last couple of years at the club was marred with injury and a falling out with Zinedine Zidane. He only made 16 La Liga appearances in 2019/20 prior to his departure.
Bale made a slow start to his second spell at Tottenham, as he was often left on the bench during the first half of the season. Most of his appearances came in the Europa League and in cup competitions.
But his form has drastically improved of late. Bale has six goals and three assists from his last six games. This has taken his tally for the season to ten goals and three assists from 22 outings.
Spurs do not have a clause in Bale’s loan that would automatically extend his stay beyond the end of this season.
Despite this, The Evening Standard are reporting that Daniel Levy is yet to start negotiations with Madrid or Bale’s representatives about next season.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, is open to the idea of his player staying at Spurs for another year. The report adds that Madrid are keen to offload Bale to free up funds for big-money summer moves for Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
