Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has hinted that he wants to sign a new contract with the club lasting until 2022.
He joined the Blues in August by signing a one-year deal, which includes the option of another year.
He’s put in some solid displays this campaign and has captained the side on multiple occasions.

On Tuesday evening, Chelsea reached the Champions League semi-finals by beating Porto 2-1 on aggregate over two legs.
Despite losing 1-0 in the second leg, away goals from Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell in the first helped to see them through.
Following their Champions League progression, Silva was asked about his future in London.
He told Sky Italia (via Goal): “I hope to continue like this. I want to continue to play at this level and get to the World Cup in 2022. Thomas Tuchel is doing an amazing job here at Chelsea.”
The news means his one-year contract extension could be activated and signed in the coming weeks.
Silva started the season with a knock but soon began to show is experience on the team.
Chelsea went unbeaten in the first seven Premier League matches which he appeared in.
The centre-back’s influence has remained the same despite Chelsea’s change in managers.
Tuchel worked with Silva for two years at Paris Saint-Germain and still sees him as a top-quality defender.
The player was good at the back against Porto on Tuesday alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger.
He was clearly hoping to make up for his recent red card in the 5-2 thrashing by West Brom.
In that game, Silva picked up a yellow card within five minutes and got a second before the half hour mark.
When attempting to block an Okay Yokuslu shot, he brought down the midfielder and was dismissed.
In his absence, the Blues had to sacrifice some of their attacking threat. They also failed to keep West Brom forwards Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira at bay.
Silva’s form will be integral if Chelsea are to achieve Champions League glory this year.
Other than the West Brom defeat, they’ve looked great in defence when he’s been playing.
Tuchel’s men could end the club’s nine-year wait for the most coveted trophy in Europe.
