Spurs star Gareth Bale wants to return to Real Madrid next season to end his career there in style, according to reports.
The forward joined Tottenham in the summer on loan from Real Madrid in a deal that saw Spurs take on half of Bale’s mammoth wages.
The Welshman has impressed in spells this season, bagging 14 goals and three assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side.

Bale caused controversy in March when he announced that he planned to go back to Real Madrid in the summer and was forced to clarify his comments.
Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara accused Bale of being “disrespectful” while Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett said the comments had been “taken out of context”.
And Bale hit back at critics of his comments, pointing out that he is “legally” obliged to return to Madrid and that he wasn’t “disrespectful to anybody”.
Bale said in March: “Legally my contract says I have to go back to Real Madrid, which is what I stated. I don’t think I was being disrespectful to anybody.
“Real Madrid are my parent club. The reason I left is because I wanted to play games, get match fit, and enjoy my football. Come summer I will be going back. Then when I sit down with my agent and decide. Of course I want to be playing, but other things might get in the way, which in football is not just about what you want — it’s the other side.
“I am concentrating on this season. Game tomorrow, big end of the season with Tottenham, then the Euros in the summer. I don’t need to worry about anything else. After the Euros and my summer holiday I will sit down, we’ll go through something then and hopefully come up with a solution.”
His high wages mean it’s very unlikely that he will achieve a permanent move away from Madrid in the summer and AS (via Sport Witness) claim that a source ‘very close’ to Bale has told them that the Wales international ‘sees himself’ playing for Los Blancos next season.
The report adds that there is no clause in the deal that would mean Spurs could extend his stay in north London beyond the current season and that means Daniel Levy would ‘have to start from scratch’ if he wanted to negotiate a return for Bale.
AS reckon that Bale ‘would be delighted’ to stay at Madrid and end his career ‘in style’ but the only stumbling block would be his relationship with Zinedine Zidane.
