Souness, Keane react to Liverpool’s ‘unfathomable’ form

Graeme Souness and Roy Keane have reacted to Liverpool’s latest defeat at Anfield. The latter claimed that it is “crisis time” for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Scott Parker’s men beat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday thanks to Mario Lemina’s first half strike.

This is their sixth consecutive defeat at Anfield, which dates back to their loss to Burnley in January.

Liverpool are seventh in the Premier League, but Tottenham and Aston Villa can overtake them if they make the most of their games in hand.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Souness suggested that Klopp was wrong to make so many changes against Fulham:

“The message that sends to Fulham is they are not showing us enough respect, as a manager that’s how I would have interpreted it.

“When you hand the initiative to the opposition, it’s totally wrong.

“The way I was brought up, start right, get your goals and then maybe make changes.

“It is unfathomable. It beggars belief how a team can go from being so good to so average.

“People talk about the manager, but Jurgen Klopp has learned a lot about his dressing room.

“It’s about players. Some of them have not stood up to the challenge.”

Keane then claimed that Liverpool are not playing “as a team” at the moment:

“To me they are not playing as a team, they are not a team.

“It’s obviously crisis time for Liverpool now.

“They are not playing as a team and that should be the manager’s biggest worry.

“It’s amazing what’s happened to this Liverpool team, they are a shadow of themselves.”
