Solskjaer reveals Man Utd injury blows; gives update on Cavani future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Edinson Cavani “will make a decision” at the end of the season as to whether he stays at Man Utd.

The Uruguayan has scored six goals in 18 Premier League appearances this season with only nine of those coming from the start.

And there are rumours that he will leave for Boca Juniors in the summer without taking up the option in his Man Utd contract.

His father added fuel to the fire yesterday too, as he declared that his son “does not feel comfortable” at Old Trafford – but Solskjaer says “no decision” has been made yet.

“Edinson is proud to play for Manchester United and no decision been made for next season,” said Solskjaer.

“I cannot comment on what has been said, I can only say we are very pleased with Edinson. He probably wishes he had played more often but the aim now is to get him playing as much as possible until the end of the season, then he will make a decision.”

The Red Devils have the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie against AC Milan on Thursday before they host West Ham in the Premier League at the weekend.

Solskjaer has ruled out the midfield trio of Juan Mata, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek for their clash with the Italian giants and has revealed that Marcus Rashford is also a big doubt.

Solskjaer said: “Marcus didn’t train today, is probably out for tomorrow and also a doubt for West Ham at the weekend.”
