Sir Bobby Charlton

It is so sad to hear that Sir Bobby Charlton’s health is deteriorating and that he has been diagnosed with Dementia. It is a horrible disease that can affect anyone and can be very frightening for all concerned.

Sir Bobby was always going to feature in the ‘Far Post Header Hall of Fame’ and I I haven’t written one of those articles for a while. I feel that it is only right that he will be the next player to feature in this series and I will put an article up about him this week.

I wrote about his Manchester United debut at the start of last month in an ‘On This Day’ article, you can read that by clicking here. Charlton was the England’s highest goalscorer for 45 years before Wayne Rooney surpassed the record in 2015. He was knighted in 1994.
