Sean Dyche says his Burnley team missed some ‘golden chances’ to score in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Bournemouth.
The Premier League side were eliminated in the fifth round after goals from Sam Surridge and Junior Stanislas.
Surridge opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a simple tap-in from close range.

Stanislas doubled the Cherries’ lead in the 88th minute from the penalty spot.
Surridge had been brought down in the box when rushing onto a ball from Philip Billing.
Burnley had some great chances to score at Turf Moor. Jay Rodriguez sent the ball way over despite having almost the entire goal to aim at.
Matej Vydra saw his shot saved by Asmir Begovic, before Phil Bardsley sent his opportunity wide.
Speaking after the defeat, Dyche told BBC Sport: “We were not quite at the races in the first half. we gave away a soft goal but in the second half we really took the game on, missed a golden chance and from then on we were chasing it really. In the end it was two teams battling out on a scruffy pitch on a scruffy night.
“We’ve no more injuries, which is a positive in itself, but the feel of the group. There was the underbelly of a performance there and the belief of a group was still there but you have to put your golden chances away.”
Burnley nearly made a blunder before a ball had been kicked. Erik Pieters was named in the starting lineup despite being suspended.
Dyche’s side were notified about the error and subsequently changed their squad.
When asked about the situation, Dyche said: “It was an oversight. We did notice it, Bournemouth noticed it and we managed to sort it before kick-off. Bournemouth, very gentlemanly, said they thought we had a player who was not eligible.
“You would like to think if it doesn’t happen in a sporting manner there could be a story the other way but fair play to them.”
