Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves have praised Man United’s Amad Diallo for his “brilliant” improvisation against AC Milan on Thursday night.
Amad agreed to join United in October and his move from Atalanta was made official in January. He joined for a fee that could rise to €40m.
The attacker has been included in the first-team squad in the Premier League and FA Cup in recent weeks. He made his debut as a substitute in their Europa League first leg against Real Sociedad in February.

Amad’s latest appearance came on Thursday night against AC Milan in the Europa League.
The youngster came on at half time and four minutes later he put United ahead. Bruno Fernandes cutely chipped it into the area and Amad netted with a superb back header past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Red Devils went onto draw 1-1, but Scholes told BT Sport, as cited by Manchester Evening News, that Amad made a “great run” for his goal:
“You have to obviously adjust to when the ball’s coming to him and that’s the best he could’ve done with that ball. Fernandes in these spaces, he will look for those runs and it was a great run from Amad.
“If it comes to his chest, yeah he’ll chest it down, but he’s had to improvise there and it’s not something you see a lot and that back header was brilliant.”
Hargreaves agreed with Scholes as he praised Amad for his “fabulous moment” at Old Trafford:
He added: “Fabulous, to see a young player come on and have such an impact on the game. Bruno Fernandes, this is what Bruno does great, find a little pocket of space like Scholesy used to.
“That is an amazing run from a young kid, it doesn’t look like there’s a ton of space in there, he gets behind Tomori. The execution of that just shows you, it doesn’t matter how tight it is – a good pass and a good run beats any defence.
“That is a fabulous moment for the young man. I thought he had some really good moments and that was a really good header.”
