Liverpool forward Mo Salah is “wanted” by Real Madrid, but they do not have the “financial means” to sign him, according to their ex-president Ramon Calderon.
Salah returned to the Premier League as he joined Liverpool from Roma. The Reds paid a then club-record fee of around £36.5m to bring him in.
The Egyptian has been one of the most lethal attackers in world football since his move to Anfield. In his debut season, he scored 44 times from 52 appearances in all competitions.

He has kept that form going since then, as he has netted 118 times from 188 games for Liverpool. In this time he has helped them win the Champions League and Premier League.
Salah has always been open on his desire to one day play for Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Speaking to On Time Sports, Calderon had doubts whether Liverpool will be willing to “let him go” anytime soon:
“He is a great player and a goalscorer. He helped Liverpool by giving his best, but I don’t think they will let him go.
“It is expected that, if they were to think about it, they would only let him go for a lot of money.
“Salah is wanted, of course, by Real Madrid, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money and, if that deal were to be completed, it would be crucial.
“Salah is a great player with fantastic potential, and any club wishes to acquire such talents, but for Real Madrid I do not think they have the financial means to sign Salah.”
