BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has labelled Arsenal as being “extremely poor” ahead of this weekend’s game against Sheffield United.
It has been a very disappointing week for the Gunners. Last time out in the Premier League they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s men could barely lay a glove on their opponents as they succumbed to three second half goals.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring shortly after coming off the bench. Mo Salah made it two soon after before Jota got his second in the final ten minutes.
Arsenal only had three shots over the course of the 90 minutes and only two of these were on target. They then hosted Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.
The Gunners were in the ascendency but they did not make the most of numerous chances that fell their way in both halves.
Despite this, they did take the lead in the final ten minutes. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the creator as he laid it off to the advancing Nicolas Pepe.
The winger got there first before he chipped Slavia Prague’s goalkeeper to make it 1-0. It proved to be a frustrating night though as the visitors equalised in stoppage time.
Before their return leg next Thursday, Arsenal face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday evening.
BBC Sport pundit Lawrenson predicted that the Londoners will win 2-0 this weekend, while he criticised Arteta’s men for their showing against Liverpool:
“For a while now it has been just a question of when Sheffield United are going to be relegated, not ‘if’.
“The Blades beat Arsenal in this fixture last season, but it is hard to make a case for a repeat result this time, even knowing how bad the Gunners can be.
“Mikel Arteta’s side were extremely poor in their 3-0 defeat by Liverpool last weekend. But they are so up and down at the moment that it doesn’t mean they will be the same again – in this case, that is a good thing.”
