The attackers at Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal are entitled to ask for a little help. At least Leeds’ defenders are covering for their abject lack of goals from midfield.
It is generally regarded as a good sign when goals are spread out throughout a team and the Premier League table seems to back that up, with the top three sharing their goals around. No particular unit is responsible for more than half of the total goals at Man City, Man Utd and Leicester.
That’s not the case, though, for Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool, who are hugely reliant on their strikers for goals. So when the forwards are misfiring they are – to use a technical term – f***ed.
That trio and Leeds need desperately to source some goals from midfield this summer. Though Leeds’ defenders are doing their best to fill the void…
