Man Utd stopper tops PL keepers ranked on save percentage

A delve into the goalkeeping stats reveals an easy choice for Ole and evidence of another wrong move by Arsenal…

It’s approaching decision time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he decides who might be his No.1 next season. If the Manchester United manager consults the raw stats, there appears to be a clear winner: the lad from Whitehaven wearing the kid’s baseball cap.

Some other takeaways from the Premier League keeper’s ranked by saves percentage…

– Ederson is quite good.

– Bernd Leno’s saves percentage has dropped by 10 per cent.

– Arsenal picked the wrong keeper last summer.

– Tottenham target Nick Pope is very marginally out-performing the bloke he’s rumoured to be replacing.

– Mat Ryan couldn’t stop a pig in a ginnel at Brighton before Arsenal took him off the Seagulls’ hands.

– Do Seagulls have hands? Probably not.

Sam Johnstone has been the busiest keeper in the Premier League this season.

– Jordan Pickford is having a better season, though it was a low bar.
