Paul Scholes thinks Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea is the club’s “biggest weakness” after they beat Newcastle United 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Spaniard has come under criticism over the past couple of seasons with many pundits and fans wanting to see Dean Henderson given the chance to become the United number one.
Henderson has started two Premier League matches this term with De Gea keeping eight clean sheets so far, while Man City keeper Ederson has 15.

And Scholes thinks De Gea is costing the club points this season and believes the 30-year-old has become a “real problem” for Man Utd.
Scholes told BT Sport: “Yeah, [the clean sheet record is] not good enough.
“We mentioned it before the game, I think that is the biggest weakness in this team.
“David again, so sloppy, it’s becoming a real problem, having the confidence in your goalkeeper, and short corners, United had one out for two or three corners, this is the one where David again, can you catch that? He punches it into a really bad area.”
Where are Manchester United heading this season?
And what needs to be done to ensure a genuine title challenge next season?

The Red Devils had secured just one win from their previous five top-flight matches, with the victory over Newcastle moving them back into second and within 10 points of leaders City.
“It’s one of those that you can’t really walk into a stadium and think ‘we play Premier League now, we’re in bad form’,” said Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who brought 17-year-old Shola Shoretire off the bench for his debut.
“And then when you walk into stadium Thursday in the Europa League and think ‘we’re in great form’.
“To build momentum, to go on the pitch and feel you’re playing well is important. We’ve had a couple of setbacks.
“West Brom and Sheffield United, two setbacks there but we can look back at them and see why we didn’t get points we deserved, but that’s not what I want to do.
“The boys are really focused, good at recovering mentally and physically.
“It’s not easy. We played Thursday night and came back here and that’s why we maybe needed 45 mins to get going.”
