Tottenham Hotspur unveiled their new manager to the press on this day back in 2004 and it was a name that not many fans expected.
Jacques Santini, the French manager was announced as the man to take the reins at White Hart Lane. He was to leave his role as the French national team manager after Euro 2004, that was due to take place a few days after the press conference.
Santini guided the French side to the Quarter Finals where they were knocked out by eventual winners Greece.
The Frenchman had only managed in his native country, and his inexperience was to prove to be his downfall. He was fired only five months later after only three league wins and a total of six goals scored in all competitions.
