Best netted the third goal of United’s five goals in a 5-1 win at home to Burnley. The two sides had played each other at Burnley’s Turf Moor just 48 hours prior, with Burnley winning the match 6-1.
47,834 fans turned up for the Lancashire derby and the Manchester United fans were able to see their heroes exacting revenge after their hammering on Boxing Day.
United’s other goalscorers were David Herd and Graham Moore, who both scored a brace. Andy Lochhead scored for Burnley.
