Bradford City’s famous League Cup run came to an end on this day back in 2013 as they were beaten 5-0 by Swansea City in the Final at Wembley.
Phil Parkinson’s men had already beaten three Premier League teams on their way to Wembley. Both Wigan Athletic and Arsenal were beaten on penalties at Valley Parade, before Aston Villa were beaten 4-3 on aggregate in the semi finals.
The Final at Wembley on 24th February was a very one-sided affair. Nathan Dyer and Michu both scored in the first half to give Swansea a two-goal lead at the break.
Dyer added his second of the game three minutes into the second half before Antoine De Guzman grabbed two goals in the final half hour.
Just under three months later, The Bantams returned to Wembley in the League Two Play Off Final. This time their fans left in jubilant mood as their heroes comfortably beat Northampton Town 3-0 to ecure promotion to League One.
