Dallas is now in his sixth season with the Whites and he has been an integral player for them since joining.

The Northern Irishman has totted up over 200 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit since his transfer from Brentford.

Dallas is arguably enjoying his best season to date on a personal level this season. He has played in a number of positions in defence and midfield and he has five goals from his 25 outings.

O’Leary was Leeds boss between 1998 and 2002 as he replaced George Graham. He guided them to three top-four finishes during his time at the club.

The 62-year-old the Yorkshire Evening Post that Dallas’ adaptability is really impressive:

“I like Stuart. I have met him a few times and he is a very nice person.

“He does really, really well for Leeds United.

“He is one of the players that is an unsung hero in many ways.

“The big thing about him is the way he is adaptable to so many positions and, when he has to play in all those different positions, he doesn’t let the side down in any way.

“I’m a big fan of his, I really am.

“I once played three different positions for Arsenal.

“I started at centre-back and then George Graham put me at right-back and then at left-back, and I thought that was an achievement.

“But five, that takes some doing.

“Stuart has amazed me the standard he has played at when he has fulfilled all these positions he is asked to play in.

“He is one of those players when I look at the team sheet that I hope is playing because I always think Leeds are a better team when he is in it.”
