Members of the Man United dressing room are “big fans” of Jack Grealish, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would prefer them to sign Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
Grealish and Sancho have both been heavily linked with moves to Man United. The Borussia Dortmund attacker came close to signing for United last summer.
This did not come to fruition in the end, though, as Dortmund were unwilling to accept an offer that was less than £103m.
Man Utd among seven worst runners-up of last 20 years…
But they have now lowered their asking price as Man United and others can sign him for £75m this summer.
The Telegraph have reported that Solskjaer has made Sancho his “priority” signing this summer.
They add that the Man United dressing room are “huge fans” of Grealish, but Solskjaer is still favouring a move for Sancho.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Harry Kane. As cited by The Mirror, Solskjaer refused to rule out signing another striker this summer:
“No, of course I can’t. Yeah Edi (Cavani) signed but how many good strikers have we had at this club?
“And I can’t say we’re not signing a striker, of course not because we’re building towards a better squad.
“We’re top three two years on the bounce but we’re still nowhere near where we want to be. “Hopefully we’ll end up with a stronger squad at the start of next season and be more consistent and challenge the ones in front of us.”
“I spoke to City and I spoke to United but I grew up watching more of United – no disrespect to City – but I grew up watching more of United football, Old Trafford, being one of the biggest teams in the world.
“I always had my heart set on this club. I spoke to Pep and obviously the football they play and what he’s done for the club. I have great respect for Pep and what he’s brought to football.
“But it was United – my heart was set from the amount of interest they showed in me. For them to pursue it over 12-15 months. It just shows how much they believed in me and how much I’d be part of the team.”
