Jamie Redknapp has slammed Mikel Arteta after his Arsenal side fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
In the lead up to this game, the Gunners had a decent record against Liverpool of late at the Emirates. Jurgen Klopp’s side had only won two of the previous ten meetings.
But after Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield earlier this season, they were in control once again this time around.

Klopp’s men did not make the most of their chances in the first half but they did take the lead in the second half. Diogo Jota headed them in front just three minutes after coming off the bench.
Their lead was doubled in the 68th minute as Mo Salah punished Gabriel for being sloppy in possession. Jota put the result beyond any doubt in the final ten minutes as he netted his second to make it 3-0.
Arsenal only registered two shots on target in the game from their three efforts overall. As cited by Football London, Redknapp told Sky Sports that the hosts were “poor” in every respect against Liverpool:
“Arsenal have always been an attacking side that have been a joy to watch throughout the Premier League, the Bergkamps and Van Persies, the strikers you couldn’t wait to watch, but right now, Arsenal fans are probably watching that game behind their sofa.
“They don’t want to hear about their team defending better, they’d rather lose the game 4-3 than play in that manner with the defending slightly better, if you like. This is Arsenal we’re talking about.
“I thought they were so poor today in every respect.
“The manager sets the team up, Aubameyang was playing as a left-back for most of the game, you want to see him up the pitch, being the talisman and leading them.
“Before Tierney went off, we saw a graphic of their average position on the pitch. He was deeper than Tierney – that can’t be the case. As a manager, you have to be more attacking.
“Having worked with Pep, I think he’s got money in the bank because he won the cup. That helped him, but their performances since they’ve won the cup aren’t good enough.”
