Mourinho: ‘No problems’ for Kane after his return to action

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Harry Kane has no “big problems” injury-wise heading into Tottenham Hotspur’s cup tie against Everton.

Kane has been in fine form once again this season for Spurs. He always gets in on the goals but this term he has also provided more assists.

The forward has 20 goals and 14 assists from just 30 outings so far this campaign.

The Englishman had scored in three consecutive Premier League games in the lead-up to Tottenham’s recent game against Liverpool.

But Kane was forced off at half time with an ankle injury. In the two games that he missed, Spurs fell to 1-0 defeats to Brighton and Chelsea.

The striker returned faster than first hoped as he was able to start against West Brom on Sunday. He got on the scoresheet again as his side beat the Baggies 2-0.

Kane is also likely to play a part against Everton in the FA Cup on Wednesday. Speaking during his latest press conference, as cited by BBC Sport, Mourinho insisted that his star man is fit to play:

“No problems [with Harry Kane], at least no big problems.

“We have to go player by player, to see their feelings and discuss with them and the best options.

“Of course we want to go with a strong team. but at the same time, we don’t want to create problems in the future for the players.”

Mourinho also suggested that Kane and Carlos Vinicius could play together if needed:

He added: “Yes I think they can. It’s not a situation that’s happening for different reasons but I think they can. They’re completely different players.”
