Manchester United will rebuff any approaches from rival clubs for Donny van de Beek, despite a disastrous debut campaign for the Dutchman.
According to The Sun, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident van de Beek will come good for United, with the 24-year-old having played just 330 minutes of Premier League football this season.
The top brass at United have faith in his qualities, and will be careful not to rush into any reckless decisions regarding his future at the club.
Van de Beek has been linked with a host of clubs, most recently Roma.
According to La Repubblica, United were considering offering van de Beek in a part-exchange for the 21-year-old midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, a target of Solskjaer’s.
Ajax, van de Beek’s old club, have also expressed interest in bringing the Dutchman back on loan, but it now looks like United will make sure he stays put.

They are second in the Premier League, and will need all the firepower they can get if they are to bridge the gap between them and Manchester City, the runaway leaders, next season.
United are 13 points off City, with five games to go. A defeat at the hands of Liverpool today would crown Pep Guardiola’s side champions.
Although the title now appears out of reach for United, Solskjaer remains focused on the task at hand, with the Norwegian recognising the importance a clash with Liverpool holds to the fanbase.
“Every time we play against Liverpool we desperately need to win,” he said.
“With the rivalry and what they’ve done the last few seasons, you look at it as one of the biggest challenges of the season because we know they’re a top team and they’ve got quality, and we’ve got to play a good game to get the three points we want.
“There’s no doubt my players will be ready and we’ll give everything. It’s just a historic, fantastic game to play in. I’ve had some good memories and bad memories, and let’s make sure this will be a good memory.”
