Man Utd will provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with transfer funds this summer but the Red Devils boss ‘will have to prioritise’ his signings, according to reports.
Reports linking Man Utd with numerous players are all over the internet as usual with rumours Solskjaer wants Sancho plus ‘a striker, young central midfielder and a defender’.
The likes of Raphael Varane and Pau Torres have been linked in recent months as they look to find a partner for Harry Maguire, while there has been speculation that Danny Ings and Harry Kane could move to Old Trafford.

And now ESPN has heard from their sources that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Solskjaer ‘will have to prioritise his summer signings’.
There are ‘plans to have a net spend of up to £150 million’ this summer at the Premier League club ‘despite United wanting to work on options to strengthen five areas of the squad’.
As Man Utd attempt to recover from the impact of Covid on finances, they will try to ‘remain measured’ in their approach to transfers but ‘will make money available for new players’.
ESPN add: ‘Work is being done on the recruitment of a striker, winger, defensive midfielder, centre-back and right-back although Solskjaer has been told the aim is to sign three first team players ahead of the new season.’
In those five positions, Man Utd have put together a shortlist of eight players who they would like to sign, made up of Sancho, Kane, Jack Grealish, Torres, Sven Botman, Varane, Declan Rice and Max Aarons
Woodward is worried about a possible ‘high turnover of players’ with the likelihood Man Utd will settle for bringing in three signings who can ‘immediately improve the squad’.
Solskjaer knows there remains work to do if they are to bring success back to the club but the coronavirus-shaped backdrop has impacted things.
Speaking back in March, Solskjaer said: “It’s definitely affecting everyone in football, the pandemic. Of course the lack of income, the finances that have affected everyone and it might affect us all well.
“We have to be realistic, we have to be responsible in the way we do our business both on and off the pitch. There’s improvements on the training ground, stadium. We just have to look at the whole picture.
“Where can we spend the money? And how much is there? It’s just the real world now. It has changed.”
