James Maddison’s hopes of going to the Euros with England are “done” after breaching Covid protocols at Leicester City, according to Jamie O’Hara.
Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury were left out of the crucial match against fellow European hopefuls West Ham having reportedly broken the guidelines.
West Ham went on to inflict only the Foxes’ second away defeat of the season, with a 3-2 victory lifting them back into the top four, just a point behind Leicester.

And O’Hara reckons Maddison will now face an impossible challenge to get into the England squad for the Euros this summer as Gareth Southgate will find it hard to trust him.
“The biggest problem, and person who will have the most regret out of this, is James Maddison,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“I think he’s just put himself out the England side. The Euros are done for him now as he can’t be trusted.
“There was a casino incident they had before and Southgate wasn’t happy about it, now this.
“He will have huge regrets and I know this from being a player myself and not reaching the potential you probably should reach.
“He will look at this situation in a few years and go ‘I wish I didn’t do that and took that responsibility more’.
“When you’re a young lad, you’ve got money, you’re enjoying life, you’re driving nice cars, you can do what you want and you get carried away.
“You think you’re invincible and invisible and you can get away with anything. You can’t.
“The worst thing you can do as a footballer, and I’ve felt this, when you come to the end, football ends quickly.
“It’s not like a business where you can make mistakes and can start another business and learn from those mistakes.
“When football is gone it’s gone. You can’t have regrets. I have a lot of regrets and I look at someone like James Maddison, I was a party boy and I liked going out and enjoy things and I look back and think ‘I wish I didn’t do that, I wish I didn’t go on that night out, I wish I didn’t get caught doing that’.
“When your career ends, you don’t want that feeling. He’s a great football player with a lot of ability.”
