Jurgen Klopp has reiterated that he plans to take a one-year sabbatical when he leaves Liverpool and has explained two factors which would see that happen this summer.
Klopp says he has an “agreement” with his family that he will take an extended break from the game when he leaves Anfield.
A disappointing season at Anfield – that has seen the 2019-20 champions slip to sixth place in the Premier League – has led to suggestions that the move could come sooner rather than later.

Joachim Low’s imminent departure as the German national boss resulted in speculation that he could take on that role, while he has also been linked with Bayern Munich.
But Klopp insists he has promised his family a one-year break and explains the conditions that could lead to that break starting this summer.
“The sabbatical will definitely happen, definitely,” Klopp told Sport Bild.
“If we don’t win any more Premier League games and the thinking of the owners’ changes, I’ll take a year off. No ifs and buts.
“This is clearly an agreement with my family – and probably with my family doctor as well.
“One thing is clear: When Liverpool ends, there will definitely be a year off. Nobody needs to call, not after four months and not after six either. No matter who tries it: It’s a one-year break!”
Jamie Carragher insists there is “no chance” Klopp would consider leaving club football to manage at international level, but Peter Schmeichel said he would consider leaving Anfield if the Bayern Munich job became available, a role he has been offered before.
“Think about this scenario. Let’s play with the idea that Hans-Dieter Flick takes the German job, which is not a given,” Schmeichel said on CBS Sports.
“Then Bayern needs a new coach and Jurgen Klopp has been offered that job before. That is an absolute top job.
“And it’s a top job in his own country. You say that he would never leave Liverpool for the German job. But would he leave it for Bayern Munich?”
Klopp was quick to dismiss those suggestions in a recent press conferance and Carragher doesn’t think he would leave the Reds before the end of his contract.
He said: “He may leave it when his contract finishes but I don’t think he would break his contract.
“In his two previous jobs, he has always left when his contract has finished. He has come out and stated that publicly in the last week or so.
“I would imagine he would stand by his word. And he would want to improve on the season Liverpool have had this season.”
And speaking earlier this week, Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, insisted that his client’s time as Liverpoolmanager is far from over.
“He’s not finished with his work in Liverpool,” he told German publication Sport1. “There is no back door open because Jurgen still has a three-year contract with the Reds.
“He made this very clear so that there would be no room for speculation.”
