Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refused to be drawn on the future of out-of-contract midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Holland international’s existing deal expires next month and he has been heavily linked with, among others, a reunion with former national team boss Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.
Negotiations between the club and the player have not secured an agreement and everything points to Sunday’s visit of Crystal Palace being his last game for the club.

“Nothing to say in this moment. Gini’s character is without question, a sensational guy, completely committed to the club and the team until the last day,” said Klopp.
“It’s not the first time we had situations like that. The boys are used to being in negotiations, stuff like this.
“We will see about all these things on Sunday. Nothing else to say on this.”
Klopp knows victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday will secure Champions League qualification and he is hoping the Liverpool supporters can do their bit to back the team to a win.
“I cannot remember a season where it [Champions League qualification] didn’t go down to the wire,” Klopp added.
“I’m used to stress until the last match day. We have just had to find stability and create confidence again, scoring goals and conceding fewer.
“We have to fight for it and I respect Crystal Palace to much. I’m pretty sure they will give everything for Roy [Hodgson] in his last game. It will still be a tough cookie.
“Obviously we have supporters back. I would like to welcome them back and you cannot imagine how excited I am at seeing them again. But with all the excitement, we cannot lose patience. We need the best support, like we had when we left for each other.
“I have loved this game for as long as I can think, but it was always about the supporters. We all need support in our life, if it is positive criticism or a boost, we all need it.
“Especially in football as it is a game based on emotion. We have been alone and getting 10,000 of them back is the best news I can imagine. It will be an intense game.”
