Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Thiago’s situation at Liverpool is “far from perfect” but they are adapting to get the best out of him.
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona midfielder has had a mixed season for Liverpool so far. He made an impressive debut off the bench against Chelsea in September.
But he tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after that game, which ruled him out for four games. He returned against Everton in October and he played the full 90 minutes as they drew 2-2.

Thiago then suffered a knee injury that saw him miss Liverpool’s next 16 games in all competitions. His first appearance after that injury came at the end of December against Newcastle United.
The midfielder has started in five straight league games for Liverpool. Speaking during their 3-1 win over West Ham, as cited by The Mirror, Gary Neville spoke of his concerns with the Reds’ midfield:
”I am thinking that Liverpool are silky but they have lost their punch a little bit.”
Klopp disagrees with Neville as he claimed that Thiago’s adapted position for Liverpool is “working out well:
“The situation is far from perfect, injured, ill, but not too important any more.
“We and he had to learn how to play without changing everything.
“He was 6 at Bayern but we decided to adapt his position a bit. Worked out well. Stability, we can use his skills.”
