Man Utd legend Roy Keane has slammed Fred’s performance in their 3-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday despite his goal.
Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood scored the goals as the Red Devils came from a goal down to beat Spurs in north London.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk player bagged the equaliser to set second-placed Man Utd on course for the comeback victory, which sees them pull seven points clear of Leicester, who occupy third position.

Despite Fred’s first goal in the Premier League this season, Keane was still critical of his overall performance for United.
“It’s just as well Fred scored because I thought he was dreadful,” Keane said on Sky Sports.
“I don’t know what people are talking about saying that he played well, I thought he was dreadful. It’s good link-up play [for the equaliser], quick play, quick one-two around the box. Fred on the spot, I even thought he was going to miss that.”
Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay didn’t share Keane’s view of Fred as he praised the Brazilian for his contribution and performance against Tottenham.
Reacting to Fred’s goal, McTominay told MUTV: “Top, so happy for him. It’s what happens when he gets in the box, you know. I said that to him at the end, ‘get in the box Fred!’.
“All the boys were really, really good today. I thought Paul Pogba was outstanding, Mason when he came on made a real difference, Edi, I can speak highly enough of the majority, well, all the players to be fair.”
Fred was happy with his goal but wants to add more to his tally before the season is out.
Fred said on MUTV: “[I’m] very happy about the goal. It’s my first goal this season. I know my job is not to score goals, but when I’m scoring goals I’m very happy. I need to keep it going to try and score more this season.
“First half we didn’t play well. But at half-time we talk a lot in the dressing room and in the second half we started the game well; playing well, playing more of the ball and playing side to side.
“We have this space in the game; we scored the first goal and it opened the space – more goals is very important for us and we need to keep it going.”
