Klopp addresses Salah ‘issue’ as there’s more Liverpool injury woe

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has questioned whether the Mo Salah substitution “issue” is worth talking about after confirming another defensive injury.

The Reds are currently sitting in seventh position in the Premier League after their nightmare title defence got worse on Thursday night as they lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Anfield.

Liverpool have been suffering all season with injury issues at centre-half and Klopp confirmed that Ozan Kabak had suffered “a little problem” against Thomas Tuchel’s side.

On Kabak, Klopp said: “We will see if he is ready for Fulham. It doesn’t look like it at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Salah was controversially taken off just after the hour mark against Chelsea with the Egyptian looking disgruntled about the decision.

And answering questions on his decision, Klopp added: “Is this situation a reason for a proper talk about it? We were 1-0 down.

“He wasn’t happy with being subbed as a striker, he wanted to stay on. It’s a normal issue. It’s all okay. These things are not our problem.

“We all have to improve, definitely. Mo still has a great scoring record and everyone knows even he knows himself he could have scored more. That’s not a problem but in general we have to improve.”
