Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says the Merseyside derby against Everton in October was an “important” moment in their season.
Virgil van Dijk has not played for Liverpool since sustaining a knee injury at Goodison Park, the centre-half undergoing surgery soon after.
Klopp was furious with the tackle that injured Van Dijk, referencing “a very strange decision by one person” – Pickford – as recently as November.

The Liverpool boss has certainly calmed down since but admits it was an “important day” that has shaped the Reds’ season.
“I don’t know what I will think when the season is over,” said Klopp.
“Hopefully something nicer than [the Everton game]. It was an important day for sure.
“Nothing will be carried over. A week later, two or three when we got the diagnosis for Virgil van Dijk, it is good we didn’t play Everton straight away again, let me say it like this.
“But that’s long gone. Now we just don’t think about it, but it is still a derby and that’s enough to be motivated.”
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is currently going through his first slump in form since his move to the Premier League. He recently made two major mistakes that gifted Man City two goals in the space of just three minutes.
But Klopp still has full confidence in his keeper after he kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig in midweek.
“My confidence [in Alisson], nothing has changed. We are all human and he showed that in the last 2 games. Not a problem. It’s work and he is doing that. He doesn’t get up and think he is a world-class goalkeeper. Ali is too smart to ignore [the mistakes]. Completely normal.”
