Man United target tipped to succeed at European giants

Man United transfer target Jules Kounde is destined for a big club, according to his Sevilla central defensive partner Diego Carlos.

Man United are reportedly in the hunt to sign the 22-year-old centre-half who was the subject of a failed bid from Manchester City last summer.

Liverpool are another Premier League side linked with the highly rated Frenchman, who Carlos believes has all the attributes to succeed at one of Europe’s top sides.

Speaking about Kounde to the Daily Mail, Carlos said: “Yes, he has quality and he can play for great European clubs.

“He is a young player who can still improve over time. He has got great qualities, he is very strong and I am sure he can play for a big club as a great defender. We have good communication on and off the pitch and we have a good relationship.”

Kounde’s attacking qualities also score highly with Carlos, with the Frenchman’s willingness to get forward highlighted.

“To have a strong defence, we also need all the other players to help us and we can help them to attack. So Kounde really looks to attack too and like all the other midfielders, we all help each other and we are a good team in attack and defence.”

Fellow centre-half Carlos is no stranger to transfer speculation himself, having been linked with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal in the past.

However, he says he is a long way from seeking out the advice of fellow Brazilians David Luiz and Thiago Silva on a move to the Premier League.

“No, I haven’t spoken to those players, I have just been talking with my colleagues within the club.”
