Eddie Howe is “extremely keen” to take over at Celtic and he has turned down the Sheffield United job, according to reports.
Howe called time on his playing career in 2007 when he was with AFC Bournemouth. He immediately turned his attention to coaching and he became the Cherries’ permanent boss in January 2009.
The 43-year-old left Bournemouth in 2011 to take over at Burnley, but he made his return just over a year later.

His first spell as the boss was successful but he completely eclipsed that during his second tenure. They were promoted to the Championship in 2013 and two years later they reached the Premier League.
Howe did a phenomenal job as Bournemouth defied all expectations to stop in the top flight for five seasons.
But their spell in the Premier League came to an end last season as they finished 18th in 2019/20. In the aftermath of this, Howe decided to leave and he is still without a job.
The Englishman has been linked with several jobs in recent months, including Celtic, Sheffield United and Newcastle United.
The Scottish giants have been on the lookout for a new permanent boss since the departure of Neil Lennon in February. Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane is believed to among the frontrunners for the vacancy.
Sheff United are also searching for a new manager. Chris Wilder left last month with them still rock bottom in the Premier League.
The Daily Record, as cited by The Sheffield Star, are reporting that Howe favours the Celtic job. They have claimed that he has already turned down two Premier League jobs:
“Eddie is extremely keen on Celtic and claims that he only wants a job in England couldn’t be further from the truth.
“He has already turned down two job offers in the English Premier League, including Sheffield United only this week.
“The location doesn’t matter – what is important is that the club is the right fit for Eddie and Eddie is the right for the club.
“Eddie isn’t the type of guy to take on any job. He has to know that the structure is right and everything is in place for him to succeed.”
