The two four-team tournaments will be played in the United States – The Women’s Cup in Louisville, Women’s International Champions Cup in Portland – and all games will be played on two separate days. Each tournament consists of two European sides and two NWSL teams.
The Women’s Cup – Chicago Red Stars, FC Bayern, PSG, Racing Louisville
The Women’s Cup will kick off the action as 2020/2021 UWCL semifinalists FC Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain face-off at Lynn Family Stadium on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
Lynn Family Stadium will host a second match at 7:30 p.m. ET where tournament hosts Racing Louisville and the Chicago Red Stars will fight for a spot in the final. To spice things up, the meeting will count as an NWSL regular-season game.
Women’s International Champions Cup – Barcelona, Houston Dash, Lyon, Portland Thorns
As if two high-profile matches were not enough action on Wednesday, WICC games will kick off while Louisville and Chicago play their second half.
Like The Champions Cup, the two WICC European sides will start the competition. UWCL reigning champions Barcelona will face seven-time UWCL winners Lyon at Providence Park in Portland. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET. After, the Portland Thorns and the Houston Dash will compete to represent the USA in the 2021 Women’s International Champions Cup final. The game’s first whistle will blow at 11 p.m. ET.
