LAFC (6-9-5) is living through one of the franchise’s darkest skids, losing four games in a row – worst losing run in club history. The Black-and-Gold have fallen to ninth place in the Western Conference and are currently out of the playoff picture. However, they are just three points away from a playoff position and have a game in hand.

On the other hand, LA Galaxy (11-8-2) is in the process of bouncing back from a disappointing 2020 season. Like LAFC, the Galaxy enter this rivalry matchup in a slump. A win would snap their two-game losing streak and keep them at the top of the Western Conference.
