Henderson willing to ‘wait for opportunities’ at Man United

Dean Henderson has insisted that his “best is yet to come” in a Manchester United shirt as he hopes to one day become their number one.

The goalkeeper enjoyed a breakthrough loan spell with League One side Shrewsbury Town in 2017/18. He shone that year as they reached the play-off finals at Wembley.

The Englishman went onto spend two great years with Sheffield United in the Championship and then in the Premier League.

He played 86 times for the Blades and he was named as their Young Player of the Year in both of his years at the club.

Henderson linked back up with the Man United first team at the start of this season. He has made eleven appearances this campaign with him deputising for David De Gea.

Speaking via the club’s official website, Henderson hopes to “built a bit of momentum” when given the chance:

“I’ve just got to keep ticking along, keep doing well and my best is yet to come.

“I’ll keep waiting for those opportunities to come and hopefully I can build a bit of momentum and show my best form.”

Henderson also suggested that it is “well overdue” that Man United win a trophy.

He added: “Trophies are massive at this football club and they’re well overdue, so we definitely want to win something this season.

“That’s what everyone in this group is working towards.”
