Ex-Man City midfielder Trevor Sinclair has insisted that Erling Haaland is the “perfect candidate” to replace Sergio Aguero.
The 20-year-old is currently one of the highest-rated youngsters in world football. He made the move to Borussia Dortmund in December 2019 and he has 49 goals from 49 games for them.
It is expected that Haaland will attract the interest of clubs around Europe this summer. Man City and Chelsea are among those said to be keen to sign the forward.

Sinclair has told talkSPORT that Haaland would be his choice to replace Aguero:
“Haaland gets involved in a minimal way in the build-up, which is almost what City like.
“A little bit of one and two-touch, playing the way you’re facing, going through the lines, then you’re getting those little slip balls down the side of the box or a pull back.
“It seems like Haaland with his rise over the last couple of years would be the perfect candidate for me.
“With his connection with his dad [Alf-Inge, who played for Man City], the style of football, he would be my choice.”
Sinclair also paid tribute to Aguero and suggested that he may end up going to Barcelona or PSG:
“For me, Aguero’s been the most important because strikers are the most important players these days.
“The fact that they’ve already stated they’re going to build a statue for Sergio Aguero, that sounds like that everyone’s happy with the deal.
“He’s happy to leave and go to pastures new and the football club are quite happy for him to do that. They’re not going to stand in his way.
“It’s a great tribute for him and his efforts at the football club. It’s a massive pair of boots to fill for someone.
“They’ve done well without almost a striker this season at times, but I really do feel they’ll be bringing someone in and it’ll be a really big name.
“Just looking at where he would go, you’ve got the Argentinian connection with [Lionel] Messi – does that mean Messi is going to stay at Barcelona?
“Also, you look at [Mauricio] Pochettino, an Argentinian, at PSG. Those two clubs would be favourites to take him on board.
“He is 33 years old [in June], so his powers are starting to dwindle a little bit, but I’m sure he’s still got a spring in his step.
“After having a year off, he’s probably still got a little bit of football to give.”
