The main reasons for Spurs sacking Jose Mourinho have been revealed, according to reports.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager took over at Tottenham in November 2019 from Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs started the season poorly after they lost in the Champions League final in 2018/19. Mourinho oversaw a strong end to the season but they narrowly missed out on the top four as they ended up finishing sixth.

The Londoners started the 2020/21 season strongly, as they sat top of the Premier League earlier in the season.
Mourinho also helped Spurs reach the Carabao Cup final. They have stuttered in recent months though, as they have dropped down to seventh in the table.
The Portuguese boss has received a lot of criticism this season that come as a consequence of some poor results and negative tactics.
The worst result of his tenure arguably came last month as they exited the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.
They took a two-goal lead into the return leg, but Zagreb beat them 3-0 in Croatia to dump Spurs out of the competition.
Tottenham are currently three games without a win and Mourinho’s last game in charge was a 2-2 draw with top-four rivals Everton.
A report from The Athletic has now revealed the main reasons for Mourinho’s sacking.
It was initially claimed that his departure was linked with plans for the European Super League, but this is not the case. In fact, his sacking is purely down to disappointing results.
It is said that players were “bored and untested” by his training sessions and that the manager was “so obsessed” with stopping the opposition. This meant that the players were “unsure” of how to attack themselves.
It is believed that the club officials were unhappy that Mourinho chose to publicly criticise his players and they asked him to stop doing it.
On top of this, his new assistant, Joao Sacramento was a really unpopular figure in the changing room.
In the end, Mourinho simply ran out of allies at the club and it was only Harry Kane who stayed loyal to his boss right until the end.
A source close to the club said: “Mourinho has sucked the culture out of the club, and destroyed what Spurs have stood for for years.”
