Bernard netted the winner in extra-time to edge Everton past Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.
There were five first half goals as the Toffees came from behind to lead 3-1 before Erik Lamela got one back before half time.
Davinson Sanchez equalised for Spurs at the start of the second half, but Richarlison struck back for Everton with twenty minutes to go. Harry Kane came off the bench to net Tottenham’s fourth to send the game to extra-time.
Bernard struck in the 97th-minute winner for Carlo Ancelotti’s side that would see them through to the last eight.
