Man Utd target Jadon Sancho has a “gentlemen’s agreement” with Borussia Dortmund which would allow him to leave this year, according to the German club’s sporting director Michael Zorc.
Sancho was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer from current club Borussia Dortmund.
The German side wanted at least £100million for the winger, which Manchester United were unwilling to pay.

The England international has been a standout player again for Dortmund – who are struggling to make the top four in the Bundesliga – this season with 12 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
With the summer transfer window quickly approaching, the Sancho to Man Utd rumours have started again with 90min claiming on Wednesday that the Red Devils ‘still want to sign a right winger this summer’.
The report added that Sancho ‘remains their first choice for the position’ and they reckon Man Utd ‘never lost interest in Sancho’.
‘United believe they could secure a deal for potentially even just half the previous asking price because of the circumstances’ especially if Dortmund miss out on a place in the Champions League for next season.
And now Zorc has revealed that Dortmund have a “gentlemen’s agreement” with the 21-year-old, while no such deal exists with in-demand Erling Haaland.
“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,” Zorc told ARD. “He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling.”
Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves recently urged Man Utd to pursue Leeds United winger Raphinha if they fail to land Sancho this summer.
Hargreaves said: “I don’t think it’s realistic for Manchester United to win the Premier League next season.
“They have to find a way to bridge that gap. You bridge that gap by getting another centre-back, getting a central midfielder, and getting a right winger.
“A lot of people have played out on that right hand side and haven’t really found it. Jadon Sancho would be amazing.
“You think about Raphinha at Leeds and what he could do in this United team – there’s obviously levels, and you can’t always spend £100 million on a player.”
