Donny van de Beek will reportedly meet with Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to discuss his role in the team next season.
The midfielder, 24, endured a tough first campaign at Old Trafford following his big money move from Ajax.
He was limited to just four Premier League starts after failing to impress the club’s coaches.

Van de Beek was ultimately forced to rely on cup competitions for game time. He went on to make 36 appearances in total, most of them off the bench.
According to The Telegraph, he has planned a meeting with Solskjaer to find out what his role will be in 2021/22.
He’s hoping to be promised more starts by his manager so he can repay some of the £40million fee they paid for him.
Van de Beek will have been concerned by the Norwegian’s lack of trust in his bench during the Europa League final.
No substitutes were made until deep into extra-time, despite multiple players appearing to be flagging.
Solskjaer was criticised for the decision after the match. Van de Beek didn’t even get on the pitch as the Red Devils lost on penalties to Unai Emery’s men.
He’s already been linked with a move away from Manchester. But United are apparently keen to keep him, which suggests a more prominent first team role will come his way next season.
The player will have to oust one of Solskjaer’s trusted starting eleven to get game time. Bruno Fernandes has been excellent since signing from Sporting Lisbon and is unlikely to lose his place.
That means Van de Beek may have to target a central midfield role, alongside either Fred or Scott McTominay.
In November, he was asked about his frustration at being left out of the starting lineup on so many occasions.
Van de Beek said: “I’m a patient person, but of course you go there to play as much as possible.
“I also think – in the minutes that I have made, in the times that I have come in – I have shown that I can add something to the team.”
