‘It’s disgraceful’ – Pundit picks Sanchez as ‘worst’ Spurs player

Jamie O’Hara thinks Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez was their “worst player” despite scoring twice in their 5-4 extra-time defeat to Everton on Wednesday.

Their FA Cup run came to a chaotic end with a fifth-round defeat at Goodison Park with a most un-Mourinho-like performance of shoddy defensive application.

Sunday’s victory over struggling West Brom is Tottenham’s only success in the last fortnight with a fourth defeat in five matches coming against Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

OPINION: ‘Disgraceful’ from Mourinho, Tottenham; Sigurdsson shines

Sanchez scored twice with Erik Lamela and Harry Kane getting the other goals for Spurs, while Hugo Lloris has come in for some stick for his part in Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser to tie the game up at 1-1.

But it is Sanchez who former Spurs midfielder O’Hara picked out as the “worst player” on the pitch for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara said: “It’s disgraceful really.

“If you go away from home, score four goals but still lose the game, it’s ridiculous.

“I love the way Spurs played [to begin with]; they attacked the game and deservedly went 1-0 up. I then went to put the kettle on and came back and we were 3-1 down!

“It was a great game for the neutral but the defending was shocking. Davinson Sanchez scored two goals for us and he was our worst player!

“The Calvert-Lewin goal, Lloris has to save it. He’s hit it hard but it’s straight at him! It’s the old saying, ‘chocolate wrists’. You’ve got to palm them away, they can’t end up in the back of your net.

“The last [goal], Bernard, it’s a good goal but make yourself big! When he gets in those tight angles, it’s like he makes himself smaller…

“Mourinho will be raging at the defending.”
