Dejan Lovren thinks he would still “do the job” at Liverpool and reckons there is no reason why Mo Salah couldn’t be at Anfield for “another four, five, six years”.
The 31-year-old Croatian was part of the Champions League and Premier League teams of the past two seasons before his six-year stay with the club ended with a move to Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg in July.
Since then the rumours have ramped up that Salah could be leaving Liverpool with speculation over a move to Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid heating up.

Ask whether Salah is still committed to Liverpool, Lovren told talkSPORT: “Yes, of course.
“He’s not just for Liverpool, he’s for all the fans around and the supporters and for himself.
“I’m still in communcation with Mo Salah. We are still the best buddies, even outside football, and we talk about everything.
“Individually, when you look at the amount of goals he’s scored, he’s doing amazingly at the moment.
“Mo is in the best age of his football career at 28. Maybe he looks a bit older but he’s in the peak of his form so why not stay another four, five, six years?”
The Reds have struggled with injuries to their centre-backs this season with many questioning their decision to sell Lovren without any adequate cover.
When asked whether their current injury crisis in defence could see them lose the title, Lovren said: “Yeah, that’s one of the reasons, that’s for sure.
“It’s not the same compared to having Van Dijk, Joe Gomez or Matip there.
“It will be tough this season but there are still a lot of games in front of them. I think they have a lot to prove, nothing is over, but for the top four everything is possible.”
Lovren added: “Yes of course I could do the job but like I said do I have regrets? No.
“I was there for six years and for four-and-a-half years I had a really good time but for the last year-and-a-half it was not a good time.
“Did they use me as much as I wanted? No, but I accepted it. I don’t regret going away as I’m playing every week and I’m a captain now so it’s totally different.”
