CONFIRMED: Sergio Ramos will leave Real Madrid after 16 seasons

The “love story” between Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid has come to an end. The Spanish center back will not extend his contract with Los Blancos and his exit from the club where he won four UEFA Champions League titles will become a reality tomorrow in a ceremony led by president Florentino Pérez.

The 35-year-old will leave the club after sixteen seasons and following one of his worst seasons as a professional, where he was only able to play 21 games in all comps due to many injuries. His final appearance with Los Blancos was the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

In a brief press release, the team revealed their plans to bid farewell to the captain that was key to winning the 2014 UEFA Champions League and many other trophies. Once the ceremony led by Florentino Pérez ends, Ramos will answer questions from the media in a telematic press conference.

The Spanish footballer has been tempted by teams such as PSG and Manchester City, but the player is not expected to reveal the team where he will continue his playing career.
