Brighton 3-2 Man City: Seagulls fight back to beat 10-man City

Brighton complete a two-goal fight back against Premier League champions Man City in front of their returning fans.

It took the Premier League champions just two minutes to go ahead at the AMEX Stadium. Riyad Mahrez chipped it into the area towards Ilkay Gunodgan, who did well to head home to make it 1-0.

The was more drama shortly after as Joao Cancelo was sent off for the visitors. Stuart Atwell judged that the defender denied Danny Welbeck a goalscoring opportunity as they battled for possession.

Leandro Trossard got a goal back for Brighton in the 50th minute as he netted from close range past Ederson.

The returning Brighton fans were willing their players on with all their might in the second half. They equalised in the 72nd minute.

Adam Webster got the goal as he rose highest in the area before finding the bottom corner with his header. They took the lead four minutes later as Dan Burn bundled the ball into the net from inside the penalty area.
