Aubameyang is set to return for Arsenal against Wolves

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is in contention to return for Arsenal on Tuesday night against Wolves after missing three games for “personal reasons”.

The forward has missed Arsenal’s last three games in all competitions. The club released a statement suggesting that his absence was down to him dealing with personal matters.

He did not feature in their recent FA Cup and Premier League games against Southampton as well as last weekend’s draw against Manchester United.

Aubameyang took to his Instagram last week to confirm that he has not played for Arsenal of late because his mother had been taken ill:

“Hey guys, Thank you so much for all the messages and calls over the last few days.

“My mother is going through some health issues and I had to be there for her. She’s already much better now and I will be back home tonight.

“I’m more than grateful to the doctors and nurses for helping her get through this.

“And of course, thanks to my Arsenal fam for the love yesterday! I’m more determined than ever to keep our momentum going!

“Thank you all again – I really am beyond blessed to receive this level of support and love from all of you and I can’t wait to be back.”

Aubameyang has tested negative for COVID-19 and he returned to training on Monday. The Times have revealed that he is likely to return for the Gunners on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal could rise as high as sixth with a victory over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at the Emirates.
