Mikel Arteta is in the running to become the new Barcelona boss next season to take over from Ronald Koeman, according to reports in Spain.
Arteta took his first step into management in December 2019 as he took over at Arsenal. The Gunners have struggled at times this season, but on the whole, the Spaniard has done an impressive job.
The former Man City assistant helped the Londoners to win their fourteenth FA Cup at the end of last season.

Arteta spent three years with Barcelona B between 1999 and 2002. He made 42 appearances for them before he joined PSG.
Spanish outlet RAC1, as cited by the Daily Star, are reporting that Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta is eyeing Arteta to become their new manager.
Laporta is among the favourites to become the club’s new president later this month. The election is set to take place on March 8.
This would be his second spell as their club president. He was also in charge during Pep Guardiola’s historic reign as manager between 2008 and 2012.
Koeman is yet to complete a full year as Barcelona manager. He left the Dutch national team to become their new boss last summer.
The Spanish giants have struggled so far this season, as they currently sit second in La Liga behind Atletico Madrid. They also lost 4-1 to PSG in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie in February.
The report adds that Koeman was seen as a temporary appointment and that the next president would look to bring in their choice of manager this summer.
