West Ham now leading the race to sign £14m player after securing deal for Vlasic – report – originally posted on Sportslens.com
West Ham are leading the race to sign Zaidu Sanusi, according to reports from the Portuguese newspaper Record.
The Hammers will be really delighted with the flurry of transfer activities they have done towards the end of the window. First, they secured the signing of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, and they have completed the signing of Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow today.
The Hammers paid 30m euros (£25.7m) plus 9m euros (£7.7m) in add-ons to sign the Croatia international, but it seems there could be more addition before tonight’s deadline.
Record (h/t Sport Witness) claim that Porto fullback Zaidu could join West Ham on the deadline day.
The report claim that both the clubs have been in contact in the last few days, and that the Hammers are leading the race for the 24-year-old’s signature.
Premier League rivals Brighton have been credited with an interest as well, but they are unlikely to compete with the Hammers in this case.
According to Soccer Nigeria, West Ham are highly likely to sign the left-back on loan from FC Porto for the rest of the season with an obligation to sign him permanently for a fee of around 17 Million Euros (£14m).
West Ham are also looking to bring another midfielder to their ranks, and Sky Sports claim that the Hammers are in talks to sign Alex Kral from Spartak Moscow.
